Feminine Hygiene
In many parts of the world, girls and women face barriers to education and daily life simply because of a lack of access to feminine hygiene supplies and limited access to sanitation facilities. Without proper resources, girls often miss school during their periods, which can lead to falling behind or even dropping out. Women may also be limited in their ability to work, care for their families, and fully participate in life.
WHAT WE DO
Through One’s Friend, an initiative started and led by iHELP Foundation volunteer, Lisa Sipple, the iHELP Foundation provides feminine hygiene kits to the communities we serve in Uganda, Liberia, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala. Each kit includes essential supplies, along with education on how to use and care for them.
Our team works directly with girls and women to ensure they feel empowered to use these feminine hygiene kits, while also engaging men, healthcare providers, and community leaders in conversations that build understanding and reduce stigma.
These kits provide dignity, confidence, and opportunity. Girls are able to stay in school, continue learning, and pursue their goals without interruption. Women can go about their daily lives with confidence and security. Communities consistently share their gratitude, and on return visits, we have seen the lasting value as girls and women continue to use the kits and benefit from the education provided. The impact stretches beyond individuals to strengthen entire communities.
