Joel Betz brings over 15 years of clinical and leadership experience to the board. He graduated from Arizona State University in 2002, attended medical school at the University of Arizona School of Medicine, and completed his residency in emergency medicine at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

As a board-certified emergency medicine physician, Joel has worked with the Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers and has served as the assistant medical director for the Banner Gateway Emergency Department and medical director for Banner Payson Medical Center. After returning to the Phoenix metro area, he joined the Adeptus and Dignity family. Joel currently serves as the East Valley region regional medical officer East Valley, where he is based at the Dignity Health - Arizona General Hospital Mesa location.

Joel’s current interests and focus include increasing physician and staff communication, with a special focus on culture improvement. In his off time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, and training for triathlons.
